California VFW Foundation Rebrands as the Golden State Guardians Foundation
Sacramento, CA — October 2025 — The California VFW Foundation has officially adopted a new name — Golden State Guardians Foundation — to align with a national initiative from the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) encouraging greater inclusivity and statewide outreach. The new identity reflects a renewed mission: to serve not only veterans and their families but also the broader communities that make California strong.
“While our roots are proudly veteran-based, our mission has expanded,” said Mr. Paragon, Executive Director. “The Golden State Guardians Foundation represents unity, compassion, and the shared responsibility of all Californians to uplift one another.”
A Broader Mission for a Stronger California
The Golden State Guardians Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting veterans, service members, and California residents through emergency relief, community grants, education programs, and mental wellness initiatives. The Foundation funds critical needs such as housing assistance, utility support, medical care, food stability, and disaster recovery—bridging the gap where government programs end and community needs begin.
In addition to expanding its focus, the Foundation is actively seeking corporate sponsorships and new board members to help drive this mission forward. These partnerships will enhance the Foundation’s ability to deliver direct, life-changing support to those in need—veterans and civilians alike.
Positive Change and Growing Momentum
The rebranding marks a major step toward inclusivity and growth. From statewide partnerships with Student Veterans Associations and local outreach initiatives to emergency assistance for families in crisis, the Foundation is building a network of compassion that reaches every corner of the Golden State.
